Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

About Department

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics offers a four-year B.Tech programme at the undergraduate level, admitting 60 students per academic year. The programme addresses the convergence of computing intelligence and physical automation, preparing graduates for careers at the intersection of software and mechanical systems.

Students are introduced to the mathematical and programming foundations of artificial intelligence in the initial years, followed by specialisation in robotic systems design, perception, and autonomous behaviour. The curriculum strikes a balance between algorithmic thinking and hands-on hardware experience, which is essential for working in real-world robotic deployments.

The department has well-maintained robotics laboratories where students work with sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and robotic platforms. Coursework is complemented by project work, inter-college competitions, and engagement with industry partners active in the automation and AI space.
