About Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Data Science was established to address the growing need for graduates with a strong grounding in data-centric technologies. The programme runs under the Undergraduate (UG) scheme and admits 60 students per academic year.
The curriculum is designed around a core of mathematics and programming, progressively building towards data engineering, statistical modelling, and applied machine learning. Students are trained to work with large, complex datasets and develop the analytical competence required to support data-driven decisions in modern organisations.
The department maintains well-equipped computing laboratories where students gain practical exposure to industry-standard tools and platforms. Academic learning is supplemented by seminars, project-based assessments, and opportunities for internships with companies actively working in analytics and software engineering.
